2 quarts sweet cider | 1/2 cup brown sugar |
2 sticks cinnamon | 1/2 tsp allspice |
6 whole cloves | 1 lemon, sliced |
1 cup apple brandy (optional) | nutmeg |
Combine cider, sugar, lemon and spices in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat; add brandy if desired. Strain into warm mugs and add a dash of nutmeg to each.
