Cheddar/Garlic Bread

Serves a loaf

1/3 cup water 2 eggs
5 Tbl. butter, softened 3 oz. shredded Cheddar
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan 1 heaping Tbl. garlic
2 1/2 cups bread flour 2 1/2 tsp. yeast

Put ingredients into bread maker, and bake on Basic setting.

Notes and Variations

Comes out pretty good -- rich and flavorful -- although faintly reminiscent of Cheezits.  Experiment with other cheeses and spices.  (The original calls for onion instead of garlic.)

Note that proportions are for a 2 lb. loaf for a Breadman.  YMMV for other bread machines.


Loosely adapted from the "Stilton Parmesan Bread" recipe in Bread Machine Baking by Brody and Apter.  I was looking for a good cheese bread recipe to use up some cheddar I had.
